10 stays, 10 stars!
PostedJanuary 16, 2017
This hotel in Milano has been my favorite since it first opened its doors. The ambience of luxury and sophistication is evident upon entering this magnificent hotel. Detail, design, luxury, comfort, yet friendly. These are often found in other hotels, but rarely all in the same hotel. From the use of the Maserati hotel car, to the biggest and most comfortable rooms, and beds, Poltrona Frau design pieces and a breakfast that is Milano's best. I cannot fault this hotel. All this, and yet, it never feels stuffy or stuck up. It has kept a cool factor so often found in all Italian Design. This is my home whenever Im in Milano.
Yes, I recommend this hotel.
I'd recommend this hotel to others for:Business travelers, Family fun, Historical landmarks and culture, Local attractions, Local food, Meeting and event facilities, Museums and art, Relaxation, restaurants, Romantic getaways, Shopping, Spa

True Luxury Collection beyond expectations
PostedApril 22, 2015
Finally, a SPG hotel in Milan worthy of 5 stars!
I cannot fault the staff, the decor, the rooms, the comfort levels and general ambience of this magnificent hotel.
Upon check-in I was immediately upgraded to a fabulous suite. The hotel knew I was in Milan for a special event weekend and they did everything to make everything run smoothly.
The rooms are particularly worthy of praise. Beautifully decorated. Comfortable bed (SO IMPORTANT), big bathroom and good lighting not to mention it is exceptionally quiet in the rooms. I just love this place and cannot wait to go again!
Yes, I recommend this hotel.

Rooms in need of new mattresses!
PostedApril 20, 2015
I've stayed at the W numerous times, however, it seems to be going downhill rather fast.
The interiors of the hotel are in need of freshening up. Although it looks ok, the comfort levels of the lounge and lobby seating needs improvement. The sofa seating in the bar area has absolute no support left in them and needs to be replaced.
The worse however, now for a second time in a row, is the quality of the mattress. It is uneven, softer at some places than others and when 2 people need to get a comfortable night's rest, it just isn't up to scratch. I woke up with back pain every morning as one seems to be rolling to the sides of the mattress.
I believe the design looks great, but the actual quality is lacking.
As for the air extraction in the showers, it virtually doesn't exist. It is too dark inside and with the steam misting up one almost feels like one is in a steam room. Eventually I showered with the door open, although this means a wet hotel room floor.
I've loved the quirky design aspects of this hotel from the first time I've stayed here, but the past 3 years have taken its toll without regular, necessary maintenance. Unfortunately this hotel only works 100% if it is maintained 100%.
No, I do not recommend this hotel.

Ever Improving hotel
PostedNovember 17, 2014
I'm glad to report that after a previous not so good review, the hotel management has indeed listened and improved on certain aspects of the hotel. Well done!
It is a very unique property with its challenges, one being above the nightclub, which still is rather loud, even on the 6th floor. I think more soundproofing needs to be done in the club - but then again, i'd rather be IN the club than the room.
My only concern was that the Fabulous Room King bed's mattress was not comfortable at all - in fact it seemed to have been sloping inwards and this resulted in a bad night's sleep.
I'm staying again in 2 days and will give the managers the benefit in seeing if they did indeed address this issue.
If it is a fun hotel you want, you'll get it at the W!
Yes, I recommend this hotel.

Unfortunately this hotel is too dated by now
PostedSeptember 24, 2014
Upon check in during Milan Fashion week, there was no recognition of my Gold SPG status. No free Wi-Fi. Nothing.
The room is in serious need of a makeover, not sufficient light in bathroom to have a proper shave, in fact, the lighting in the room needs to be addressed.
The biggest downfall was that from Saturday morning till Monday morning, ALL room service trays on my floor were lying about in the hallway, with food exposed and not very pleasant at all. I think it is unfathomable that breakfast trays from Saturday breakfast were still lining the passageway on Monday morning when I checked out.
The cleaning service of the room was just as appalling. I was out every day and only came back late at night from events, but empty water bottles and bins were not even cleared.
I have stayed here many times over the past 5 years, mainly because the bar staff are friendly and it use to be a great place to hang out at Fashion week, but that is no more. One needs more than just a pretty bar and lounge, the actual hotel floors and rooms need to be clean! - unfortunately it does not warrant its SPG status and I'll never stay here again.
No, I do not recommend this hotel.

Corner suite disappointment
PostedJanuary 11, 2014
Having stayed at this W and most W hotels worldwide, I decided to splurge on the cool corner suite. What a disappointment.
The shower was dirty. I complained, but no improvement.
The lighting in the bathroom is totally inadequate. I asked for brighter globes, was brushed off by staff that "it's a look". I needed to shave and couldn't see. There was no vanity mirror, even though the standard rooms have those. No hair dryer in bathroom either. It was affixed to the safe area and had to be used with the main unlit mirror at entrance.
The European plug socket didn't work in the room either.
Finally, as I was attending an event, there was not nearly enough space to hang two suits, a jacket and a coat in the unlit wardrobe,
I expected far more from a suite. Honestly, it is not with paying extra as the standard room offers far more relative to the price!
Yes, I recommend this hotel.

Overlooking the Aegean Sea from a private peninsula bordered by sparkling sand and lush gardens is Mykonos’ most exclusive resort.

Amazing views and location

Amazing amenities, many pools, great Spa, relatively cheap food considering it is Mykonos AND a hotel & loads of public space by the pools - one never feels crowded.
